Civil Inspector – NYC Infrastructure Projects
  Location: New York, NY (In-Person)
  Pay: $65.00 – $80.00 per hour (based on experience)
  Job Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

Certified Site Safety of NY LLC is actively seeking an experienced Civil Inspector to support major infrastructure and environmental projects throughout New York City. This role is critical to ensuring construction activities are executed in full compliance with contract documents, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

As a key on-site representative, you will monitor field operations, maintain detailed documentation, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to uphold the highest levels of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Field Oversight: Inspect ongoing construction activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and shop drawings
  • Daily Reporting: Prepare accurate and detailed Daily Inspection Reports (DIRs), including labor, work progress, and material quantities
  • Cost & Quantity Tracking: Review and maintain Time & Material (T&M) records for accuracy and payment verification
  • Project Coordination: Utilize e-Builder (or similar platforms) to monitor schedules, milestones, and project performance
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a liaison between owners, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies
  • Safety Enforcement: Promote and enforce strict adherence to OSHA standards and site-specific safety protocols
Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10 years in civil construction, inspection, or engineering
    • At least 4 years of experience on NYC DEP projects
    • 2+ years working on wastewater treatment infrastructure (strongly preferred)
  • Certifications:
    • Active OSHA 30-Hour certification (issued or renewed within the past 5 years)
  • Education:
    • Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in e-Builder or comparable construction/project management software
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
