Front Desk Receptionist

Nava Behavioral Health – Las Cruces, NM

Position Summary

Nava Behavioral Health is seeking a professional, dependable, and welcoming Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and staff.

This role is critical in creating a safe, structured, and respectful environment for individuals receiving behavioral health services. The Front Desk Receptionist must demonstrate professionalism, compassion, organization, and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a warm and supportive presence.

Key Responsibilities

Client Reception & Support

  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Check clients in and out of appointments and group sessions
  • Verify insurance and demographic information
  • Maintain visitor logs and enforce building access protocols
  • Ensure lobby and reception areas remain clean, safe, and organized

Phone & Communication Management

  • Answer and route incoming calls appropriately
  • Respond to general inquiries about services, hours, and program information
  • Take accurate messages and ensure timely follow-up
  • Maintain confidentiality in all verbal and written communication

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow HIPAA and confidentiality standards at all times
  • Assist with building security protocols
  • Support emergency procedures as directed
  • Maintain discretion when handling sensitive client information

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of front desk, reception, or administrative experience
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare or behavioral health settings
  • Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines
