Material Coordinator

 Location: HELSTF
 Wage Determination Rate (WDR): $26.40/hour

Schedule

Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Every Other Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Position Summary

Are you organized, dependable, and ready to keep operations moving efficiently? We are seeking a motivated Material Coordinator to coordinate and expedite the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments while supporting operational priorities and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in logistics, warehouse coordination, and hands-on operations while working in a fast-paced team environment.

What You’ll Do

Job-Specific Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with department supervisors to identify required or overdue materials.
  • Locate, requisition, and schedule delivery of materials based on operational priorities.
  • Verify delivered materials match specifications and departmental needs.
  • Track and compile inventory and material reports.
  • Move and transport materials using industrial trucks and forklifts.
  • Utilize both manual and computerized systems for material requisitions.
  • Support cafeteria operations as cashier when required.

  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to company dress code.
  • Attend required trainings, safety meetings, and staff meetings.
  • Follow all organizational policies, ethical standards, and safety procedures.
  • Maintain strong communication and positive professional relationships.
  • Carry and respond to company phone communications during work hours.
  • Safely operate company or personal vehicles when required.
  • Promote respect, teamwork, diversity, and workplace safety.

Qualifications

Education

✔ High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

✔ Minimum 2 years of experience in material coordination
✔ Minimum 1 year experience operating:

  • Trucks up to 26,000 lbs. GVW
  • Forklifts up to 15,000 lbs.
    ✔ Computer literacy required

Licenses & Certifications

✔ Valid Driver’s License required

Required Background & Security Checks

This position requires successful completion of:

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (Top Secret Clearance)
  • Office of Inspector General/CMMS Exclusions List
  • Driving Record (MVR)
  • Office of Personnel Management/Federal Investigative Services Security Clearance
  • General Background Check

New Mexico Department of Health Fingerprinting not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, databases, and word processing
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks, handcarts, dollies, and warehouse equipment
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic environment
