Renal Medicine Associates is seeking a full-time Physician’s Assistant for our Las Cruces office.

About the Role:

The Physician Assistant (PA) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality healthcare services by providing comprehensive medical care to patients with kidney disease under the supervision of licensed physicians. This position involves evaluating patients, diagnosing illnesses, and developing treatment plans to promote patient health and well-being of renal patients in the outpatient setting. The PA collaborates closely with healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and effective communication across disciplines. By managing both acute and chronic conditions, the PA helps to improve patient outcomes and supports the efficient operation of healthcare facilities. Ultimately, the role demands a commitment to patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and adherence to ethical and professional standards within the healthcare environment.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Valid state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the United States.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in outpatient medical care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough histories and physical examinations to assess health status of patients with kidney disease.
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging studies.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with medical advancements and best practices.
