THE JOB:
As an Assistant Manager of Starbucks at MGM Grand, you’ll help lead daily operations while delivering the welcoming, high-energy coffeehouse experience guests expect in one of the Strip’s most iconic resorts. Through your hands-on leadership, warm service style, and attention to detail, you’ll support the team, ensure smooth operations, and anticipate guest needs. By taking ownership of the guest experience, you’ll create uplifting WOW moments and memorable connections that guests will carry with them long after their visit.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Review daily schedules and manage time off and vacation requests, coach and train on policies, procedures, and performance
Supervise cashiers to ensure correct policies and procedures for check handling and closing are maintained by service staff as well as manage activities; means of access and egress, to ensure complete compliance with Health Department and Fire Marshall Regulations
Directly communicate with the Chef on all food service and menu issues
Assist in seasonal menu changes and holiday menu changes
Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing
Exercise cost controls for all aspects of restaurant operation
Manage pricing and maintenance issues to ensure checks can be processed correctly
Direct communication with guests for special requests and large party reservations
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
High School Diploma or GED required
Must be 21 years of age or older
2+ Years of prior relevant experience in a similar dining environment required
Previous experience as a Manager or Shift Supervisor at Starbucks preferred
Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement preferred
