Application Engineer I

Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Station Casinos’ “Beyond the Best” Company-wide culture and demonstrating Station Casinos’ Championship Service Standards at all times.
2. Deploy, configure, and manage various applications used by Station Casinos to support line of business operations.
3. Consult with other Engineers to identify current operating procedures and clarify design and implementation objectives.
4. Formulate plans using industry standard techniques to outline tasks required to deliver committed user stories.
5. Work effectively as a member within an agile Scrum team.
6. Address and resolve application performance and availability issues in a cost-effective and timely fashion.
7. Participate with other members of a product team to operate, optimize, and support applications in a production environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. 2+ years of experience in an enterprise environment with demonstrable proficiency in at least two of the major products in use at Station Casinos preferred.
2. Knowledge of general server architecture principles.
3. An understanding of agile Scrum principles and practices.
4. Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with Stakeholders, Team Members and Leadership in both written and verbal form.
6. Must be able to work on call as required.
7. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
8. Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
2. Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods.
3. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, devices, and peripherals.

Work Conditions:
1. Must be a self-starter and work with little or no daily direct supervision.
2. Must be able to provide own transportation.
3. Must be able to provide on-call support.
4. Must be flexible on work hours as systems emergencies arise.
