WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Director of Casino Cage Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operations and transactions of cash handling in the casino for Rio Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. This includes leading a large team to deliver excellent customer service while ensuring compliance and practices are followed.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with Internal Audit, internal stakeholders and outside regulatory agencies to ensure proper cash handling procedures are implemented and followed.

  • Direct, coordinate and monitor activities to implement the Company’s policies, procedures and practices concerning cash in and cash out of currency and chips.

  • Direct activities involving implementation of cash handling equipment and services including ATMs, ATRs, Drop Carts, Currency/Ticket/Coin counting machinery, Credit Card advances, Check Cashing, COM-CHECK and Tele-Check.

  • Ensure all cash handling equipment and related software, including, but not limited to, those items noted above, are in working order and meet existing standards.

  • Establish procedures for custody and control of cash and related records to ensure safekeeping.

  • Compiles and reports all Cash-on-Hand and Cash-on-Floor data as required by Company and government regulations.

  • Prepare reports needed to satisfy all regulatory requirements, including Title 31.

  • Resolve customer problems when needed.

  • Develop plans for efficient operations with the casino cage, count room and drop teams.

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, employment and gaming laws of the state and casino.

  • Ensure accurate counting of cash and chips; reconcile and report results.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous learning, and quality output.

  • Collaborate with Workforce Management and FP&A to properly staff and forecast operational needs.

  • Understand and comply with all gaming regulations including Title 31, SICS, and MICS regulations.

  • Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position directly oversees the areas of Cage, Credit, and Collections.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in casino operations, financial and/or banking.  

  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive leadership experience.

  • Strong organizational skills, solution-driven, and analytical thinker.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Strong Computer proficiency; ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and applicable financial/casino and operational software.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required).

  • At least 21 years of age.

PREFERRED

  • Proficient in using casino databases and financial software.

  • Five (5) years experience of leading large teams.

  • Prior casino management experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.

  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 20 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
