Clean Harbors in North Las Vegas, NV is looking for a Facility Operations Supervisor to oversee the Transportation Storage Disposal Facility. The Facility Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a non-hazardous waste consolidation and bulking facility, including the handling and processing of contaminated soil, wastewater, various non-hazardous waste streams and materials.

 

The position does not currently include supervision or management of other employees but may do so in the future.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the TSDF, including the consolidation, bulking, storage, and disposal of non-hazardous waste materials such as contaminated soil, wastewater, latex paints, rags, and other related waste streams;
  • Performs daily facility and operational inspections to ensure safe and compliant operations;
  • Maintains all required compliance documentation, including waste profiles, manifests, and other applicable paperwork;
  • Performs waste manifesting and coordinates the shipment of outbound waste in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures;
  • Coordinates and oversees subcontractors performing work at the facility;
  • Remains hands-on with facility operations, including forklift operation, overseeing the wastewater process, and supporting other operational needs as required;
  • Schedules outbound waste shipments to maintain appropriate inventory levels and maximize available storage capacity;
  • Performs routine inventory counts and maintains accurate inventory records;
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment;
  • Works both in the office and in the field as needed based on department needs;
  • Includes physical labor, routinely lifting objects, operating forklift, skid steer, and mini excavator as needed;
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

 

Qualifications

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • 3+ years experience in waste coordinator role or similar;
  • Waste profiling and shipping experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations, including RCRA;
  • OSHA Training and experience.
