The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting the organization by managing core HR functions across the employee lifecycle. This role partners with leadership to ensure HR practices are compliant, consistent, and aligned with business objectives. The HR Manager balances operational execution with strategic support, helping managers navigate hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.

This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate HR processes, supporting a positive employee experience, and ensuring the organization meets all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices are applied consistently
  • Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, and required reporting
  • Monitor completion of required training and certifications

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Partner with hiring managers to support recruitment and hiring activities
  • Facilitate onboarding processes, including new hire documentation and orientation
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of employment records

Performance Management & Employee Support

  • Guide managers on performance management, corrective action, and documentation
  • Support employee relations matters, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Promote fair and consistent application of policies and performance standards

Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Oversee benefits enrollment, life event changes, and employee inquiries
  • Administer leaves of absence in accordance with applicable laws and company policy
  • Support the interactive process and reasonable accommodations

HRIS, Records & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
  • Process job changes, compensation updates, and employment status changes
  • Ensure HRIS data integrity and support reporting needs

Leadership Partnership & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with leaders to support workforce planning and organizational needs
  • Participate in HR initiatives, projects, and process improvements
  • Prepare HR reports to identify trends and support data-driven decisions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3–7 years of progressive HR experience
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience supporting managers and employees across multiple HR functions
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • HRIS experience required
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification preferred
  • Automotive dealership experience a plus
