Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Senior Analyst – Financial Planning and Analysis is to collaborate and partner with property leadership and in the production of timely and astute reporting analysis, which leads to actionable results that drive better efficiency and overall company profitability. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain complex data models and analyses to communicate key results to multiple property and corporate stakeholders including senior management.
  • Generate and prepare findings/recommendations based on historical data and will submit to the departments independently and with sole discretion without prior approval. Responsible for labor optimization analysis and reporting for all 99+ gaming and non-gaming departments.
  • Function as the team lead on major projects.
  • Fulfill reporting duties, data collection and input.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses.
  • Develop and build forecasting models utilizing systems such as, but not limited to: Cognos TM1, Tableau, and Excel.   
  • Participate as a member of the Daily Operating Report (DOR) rotation, including preparation & distribution of the weekday/weekend DOR, month-end reconciliation and setting up next month’s DOR.
  • Maintain, produce, and review the standard financial reporting on a recurring basis to include forecasts for various business units and key decision makers.
  • Develop, evaluate, and review detailed annual operating budgets for various business units in accordance with corporate-wide goals and strategies and with input from Senior Leadership.
  • Work in partnership with the Corporate Business Intelligence team to enhance capabilities of the Cognos TM1 Budget & Forecasting tool.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct other ad-hoc analyses including, but not exclusive to, gaming performance reviews, special event analyses, hotel operational analyses, financial modeling, and statistical analyses.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance, Hospitality, Accounting, or Information Technology.
  • Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy. 
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience preferably in Casino / Hospitality Industry.
  • Experience in Hotel and/or Casino Operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, and Cognos TM1.
  • Strong mathematical acumen with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.
  • Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
  • Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
