Position Description: DISCOVERY Children’s Museum seeks a self-motivated, enthusiastic individual to work as part of an interpretive floor team comprised of adults and teen volunteers and interns. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while creating a mission-oriented environment with excellent customer service and efficiency. QualificationsJob Responsibilities: Interact in a positive and engaging manner with teachers, students and families and explain hands-on exhibits. Present interactive and educational demonstrations and assist with the development of special activities. Present public programs to large audiences inside and outside of the Museum setting. Support volunteers throughout the Museum. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for children and learning and will have experience working in the field of Science and Nature Education. Experience/Qualifications High school diploma required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in an Early Childhood discipline or related discipline preferred. Teaching experience highly preferred. Physical Requirements: Include and are not limited to light and heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), sitting, bending, walking and standing. Early Childhood Part TimeStandard Schedules Offered: Schedule 1: Monday: OFF Tuesday: 9:45am - 5pm Wednesday: 9:30am - 5pm Thursday: 9:45am - 5 pm Friday: OFF Saturday: OFF Sun: 11:45am - 5pm Schedule 2: Monday: OFF Tuesday: 9:45am - 5 PM Wednesday: OFF Thursday: 9:45am - 5pm Friday: 9:45am - 5pm Saturday: 9:30am - 5pm Sunday: OFF Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings. Can subject to change based on organizational needs.
