Do you enjoy working outdoors and being around the water? The Boat House is looking for a reliable and hardworking Pier & Lift Crew Member to support our marina and waterfront operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, mechanical tasks, and being part of a team that keeps our docks, piers, and boat lifts operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with building, repairing, servicing, and removing piers and boat lifts at assigned locations
- Drive and haul boats as needed for marina and service operations
- Work comfortably on and around the water while maintaining safety procedures
- Assist with marina and dock maintenance tasks
- Operate equipment and tools required for pier and lift installation and repair
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Represent The Boat House professionally with customers and team members
- Work collaboratively with the Pier & Lift Manager, Service team, and other crew members
What We're Looking For
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfort working on and around water
- Ability to lift 50–75 pounds repetitively (with occasional team lifting up to 100 pounds)
- Mechanical or carpentry knowledge is a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays and occasional Sundays
- Team-oriented mindset and strong reliability
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Forklift experience is a plus
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratios. • Strong problem-solving ability when working with equipment, docks, and lifts. • Basic ability to use a mobile device for job assignments and time tracking.
Physical Requirements
This position is physically demanding and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and working with tools throughout the day. Team members must regularly lift 50–75 pounds and occasionally assist with loads up to 100 pounds. Good vision, depth perception, and the ability to work safely around water and equipment are required.
Work Environment
This role is primarily outdoors and involves working near water, boats, and marina equipment. Employees may encounter varying terrain, weather conditions, and moderate to loud noise levels. Team members must follow all safety procedures when working around equipment and materials.
