General Description          

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing individual and group therapy utilizing evidence-based modalities consistent with company clinical programming and curriculum.  The Clinical Supervisor supervises mental health and substance abuse staff and assists with daily management of clinical team and client crisis.  The Clinical Supervisor oversees documentation audit, clinical reporting, and staff training.   


Tasks & Responsibilities 

A. Essential Duties 

  • Provide direct supervision to substance abuse and mental health/eating disorder program staff and ensure staff is meeting KPIs on job description.   
  • MH and ED Program Development: upkeep and oversight of any processes or additions needing to be made to MH and ED Program or Curriculum for continued growth, development, and success of the programs under the supervision of Clinical Director.   
  • Ensure all required paperwork related to incident reporting is completed by staff   
  • Oversee and ensure completion of Clinical Reports such as FAN, LOS and Billing Reports   
  • Conduct auditing for supervised staff   
  • Review and second sign documentation for clinical staff   
  • Carry a caseload of 5-7 individuals.  
  • Crisis Management for all programs and overseeing of AMA Risk thread, relapses and refer outs   
  • Collaborate with Medical Director to approve admissions to mental health and eating disorder programs    
  • Group Schedule Oversight and coverage for staff PTO/call outs    
  • Provide family outreach collateral contact to client families with at least biweekly contact a week per family.   
  • Facilitate 1-2 psycho-educational, process, and experiential groups   
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director to implement clinical programming and provide monthly training to clinical staff.   
  • Completion of special projects and tasks related to program development as assigned by Clinical Director   
  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. 

Overview of Clinical Supervisor job functions which include clinical and administrative oversight of licensed therapists: 

Direct supervision of Clinicians: 

  • Facilitate and document individual and group Clinical Supervision  
  • Leading weekly clinical meetings  
  • Therapist coaching and training e.g., Performance reviews, corrective action, case conceptualization   
  • Oversight of clinician schedule, capacity, and retention  

Direct Care to Clients: 

  • 2-4 client sessions per week  

Administration: 

  • On call responsibilities, approximately once per month  
  • Onboarding/training of newly hired clinicians  
  • Review and sign of associate licensed clinician notes in EHR within 72 hours of submission  
  • Clinician training 

Leadership, Management and Accountability: 

  • Lead team to complete tasks and goals.  
  • Maintain the mission and values of the company and leading team members to complete tasks that bring them close to the achievement of these goals.  
  • Enforcing quality standards and provide valuable feedback to team and upper management on potential improvements  
  • Resolving conflicts and complaints from employees and clients 
  • Analyzing information and processes and developing more effective to efficient processes and strategies  
  • Generating reports and presenting information to upper management and other parties as directed or monitor team performance and report on metrics  
  • Create a healthy and motivating work environment and atmosphere  
  • Effectively communicate with team regarding performance  
  • Discovery training needs and provide coaching  
  • Plan and organize team activities 

B. Additional Duties 

  • Assists and covers other staff when necessary to maintain high productivity and efficiency in the department.  
  • As the company continues to grow, additional responsibilities that are essential for the department to be successful will be assigned accordingly.

Qualifications  

Education:  

  • Master’s Degree and Full Licensure in state of practice, Supervisor credential at time of hire or within 1 year of offer acceptance

Experience:  

  • 1+ years’ experience at a supervisory level working in Mental Health Treatment Facility or training in lieu of. 
  • Computer literate: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
