In addition, our staff are eligible for the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program!   What the Art Teacher does: The Art Teacher provides art instruction and supports students’ academic, behavioral, and vocational development across grade levels. Responsibilities include: Provides art instruction to all classes, including middle, lower, and high school students Teaches content‑area courses for high school credit Provides weekly art instruction to middle and lower school classes Teaches afternoon work‑skills modules for high school students Selects appropriate instructional materials and strategies aligned with curriculum goals Evaluates students’ academic and behavioral functioning and adjusts instruction as needed Implements individual and group behavior management programs Actively supervises students to ensure safety, including hallway transitions, bus, and playground duty Assists in crises as needed Chairs the Art Committee and coordinates fine arts activities Serves as liaison for community art opportunities Assists with coordination of volunteers in art and special activity areas Maintains art and work‑skills equipment, inventory, and supplies Maintains program budget and reports expenditures to supervisor What the Art Teacher brings to the team: Valid Maryland teaching license in Art Education, required OR valid Maryland Special Education license with demonstrated fine arts experience Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral needs, preferred
