Job Summary
The Patient Account Representative (PAR) is responsible for insurance verification, financial agreements, patient registration, and front desk operations across all South Central OB/GYN clinic locations. This role also fulfills Patient Experience Specialist responsibilities and may rotate between clinics based on operational needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Schedule appointments and manage patient registration; Perform accurate check-in/check-out; Verify and update patient information in Cerner; Verify insurance coverage and collect copies of insurance cards; Obtain photo identification; Collect copays, OB deposits, and outstanding balances; Post charges and payments accurately; Maintain and balance daily cash drawer; Answer incoming calls and make reminder calls; Obtain and scan patient forms and records; Fax medical records as needed; Prioritize workloads to maintain efficiency; Promote positive teamwork; Maintain HIPAA compliance; Follow facility policies; Calculate OB estimates; Meet with new OB patients to review financial obligations; Maintain OB deposit files; Verify next-day insurance coverage; Prepare next-day paperwork; Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills; Proficiency with computers and electronic systems; Strong organizational and time management skills; Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks; Working knowledge of insurance plans and verification processes.
Work Location Assignment
This position applies to all South Central OB/GYN clinic locations. The PAR will be assigned a primary location but may rotate to other clinics as needed based on operational demands.
