Job Summary

This role is responsible for supervising ER Admission staff, monitoring regulatory changes, maintaining payer compliance, training of staff and supporting revenue cycle stability by preventing Patient Access-related claim denials or payment delays. The Supervisor ensures processes are organized, compliant, and proactive, while supporting team development and cross-department collaboration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for overseeing all functions of the ED Admissions Department staff to ensure patient safety and satisfaction as it relates to registration and admission, and to optimize the facility’s financial performance. Position performs a full range of assignments under the supervision of the Director. Applicant must demonstrate knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the employees, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their personal health information. Employee must demonstrate reliable attendance and professional behavior. Applicant is responsible for enforcing health care policies, managing scheduling, and addressing patient concerns. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all data collected in the admissions process.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; proven leadership experience strongly preferred; advanced Admission Clerical experience or other related work experience; Past experience with health care insurance payers. Open compassionate communication skills, advanced knowledge of health insurance, efficient work processes and understanding of health care billing practices, understanding of front to back-end errors and the cause and effect. Applicant must have strong problem-solving and communication skills; Familiarity with HIPAA regulations; Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

This position typically operates in an office environment or remotely depending on organizational needs. Requires use of computers and office equipment, and regular communication with patients, insurance companies, and internal departments. All candidates must be able to perform essential functions.
