Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant is a licensed practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating patient care in accordance with State and Federal regulations. Duties include assessment, diagnosis, development and implementation of a treatment plan, and evaluation of patient progress.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nursing or Physician Assistant program; current APRN or PA licensure as applicable; CNOR/CRNFA certification if applicable; current BLS/ACLS (and PALS if required); strong computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• BLS or ACLS certification

• Previous EMR experience; minimum two years of NP/PA experience; current NP certification in specialty area.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform age‑appropriate patient history and physical examinations.

• Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.

• Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatments.

• Analyze patient data and verify diagnoses.

• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.

• Facilitate referrals for surgical intervention when appropriate.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.

• Provide education to staff, patients, and families.

• Maintain a positive workplace culture.

• Maintain timely and accurate Electronic Medical Record documentation.

• Perform procedures as necessary.

• Report to work punctually and stay as needed to support patient care.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.

• Assist with patient repositioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment.

• Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
