Job Summary

Under direction of RCP/RT, assists with basic respiratory procedures and patient care, supporting the cardiopulmonary process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in accredited Respiratory Care Program.

• Second‑year student; BLS certified.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior clinical respiratory exposure preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up/monitor oxygen therapy, aerosols, airway clearance.

• Perform EKGs; clean and stock equipment.

• Assist in respiratory arrests; collect/report patient information.

• Follow infection prevention and safety protocols.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.

• Assist with patient transfers and positioning using proper body mechanics.

• Manual dexterity for clinical procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
