Job Summary

Administers respiratory care and life‑support treatments to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies; serves as a resource for respiratory department technicians.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited respiratory therapy program.

• Licensed/Certified by MS State Board of Health.

• ACLS and PALS required.

Preferred Qualifications

• BLS/ACLS preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients per protocols.

• Adjust therapy based on patient response.

• Demonstrate proper equipment use and report malfunctions.

• Monitor patients and respond in emergencies.

• Document care accurately; follow infection control.

• Precept students; communicate with physicians.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.

• Frequent bending, reaching, squatting, and kneeling.

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs independently; >50 lbs with assistance/devices.

• Assist with patient positioning and transfers using proper body mechanics.

• Manual dexterity for procedures and computer use; adequate vision, hearing, and speech.
