Employees also enjoy access to an Employee Assistance Program, legal assistance, gym membership discounts, and various employee discounts at local stores.   What the Teacher does:   In consultation with Assistant Teacher, Behavior Staff, Career Staff, Related Service Staff, parents/guardians and other professionals as appropriate, the High School English Teacher develops and implements individualized education and behavioral programs for each assigned student. In addition, they Develop Individualized Education Plans for students Prepare quarterly report cards and mid-quarter reports, and IEP progress report narratives. Maintain good communication with students’ parents/guardians, relevant PHILLIPs staff, and appropriate professionals outside of PHILLIPs. Maintain classroom budget, and reports expenditures to supervisor. Evaluate students’ current levels of academic and behavioral functioning, and periodically re-evaluates to make program adjustment. Select appropriate instructional materials and strategies based on the curriculum to implement the goals and objectives on the IEP in all required subject areas. Organize classroom furniture and equipment to create a pleasant and effective learning environment. Actively supervise students throughout the day to ensure safety, including, but not limited to bus and playground duty. Implement individual and group behavior management programs. Must meet the qualifications for a Maryland Educator License in special education at the appropriate level. Experience working in special education or a related field preferred.
