Base Work Location – Position is based onsite at Laurel Race Track -  Local Area Candidates Only

Location:                             Maryland Jockey Club, 198 Laurel Race Track Road, Laurel, MD 20725 

Standard Schedule:              Wednesday - Sunday 10AM EST to 6 PM EST  (8 hour shifts)            

Home Base:                        Maryland Jockey Club

Experience:                         0-1 years preferred    *** Will Train – no experience necessary ***

Position:                              Full-Time Permanent Position w/benefits 

Union Dues:                        $27.92 bi-weekly – IBEW Local 410 Union 

Probationary Pd:                  6 Months

Hourly:                               $16.84 per hour to start 

                                         Union Increases:  1^st Year $18.59 and 2^nd Year $19.74 and 3rd Year $20.83

Benefits:                            90 Day Waiting Period after you become a Permanent Employee

Work Schedule:                   Hours Vary - including holidays and weekends – typically Wednesday - Sunday 

Summary

Provides on-site, hands-on technical ability and operating skills required to maintain AmTote's wagering equipment, ensuring efficient and satisfactory service to the customer, working in a live and non-live racing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists with repair and operations of wagering system and/or all other peripheral equipment or systems associated with AmTote's service.
• Troubleshoots and repairs all equipment associated with AmTote's service.
• Constructive interaction with AmTote customers and co-workers in a high-pressure environment, geared towards all aspects of AmTote service operations.
• Deals with customer issues with tickets or equipment.
• Follow AmTote safety procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 0-6 months experience preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Good understanding of PC operating systems.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Good understanding of basic electrical principles and circuitry.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, and to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Education

High School or Trade School preferred.
