Job Summary
The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides outpatient and inpatient therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Delivers patient-centered care, assists with treatment plans, and supports rehabilitation goals while ensuring compliance with established standards of care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Current Mississippi Physical Therapist Assistant licensure
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous inpatient and outpatient therapy experience preferred
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Observe and evaluate patient condition and report findings appropriately
- Assist in development and implementation of patient plan of care under supervision of Physical Therapist
- Assess and manage patient pain appropriately
- Provide patient and caregiver education regarding therapy, safety, and infection control
- Develop and document patient goals and progress
- Follow discharge planning processes and complete required documentation
- Communicate patient updates to physician and healthcare team accurately and timely
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
- Participate in team-based care delivery and support organizational goals
- Attend required in-services, training, and meetings
- Maintain compliance with legal, ethical, and clinical practice standards
- Adhere to infection control protocols and standard precautions
- Follow physician/provider orders and perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive physical movements
- Ability to perform overhead lifting and patient handling activities
- Ability to assist patients with mobility and therapeutic exercises
