Job Summary

The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides outpatient and inpatient therapy services under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Delivers patient-centered care, assists with treatment plans, and supports rehabilitation goals while ensuring compliance with established standards of care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
  • Current Mississippi Physical Therapist Assistant licensure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous inpatient and outpatient therapy experience preferred

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Observe and evaluate patient condition and report findings appropriately
  • Assist in development and implementation of patient plan of care under supervision of Physical Therapist
  • Assess and manage patient pain appropriately
  • Provide patient and caregiver education regarding therapy, safety, and infection control
  • Develop and document patient goals and progress
  • Follow discharge planning processes and complete required documentation
  • Communicate patient updates to physician and healthcare team accurately and timely
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standards
  • Participate in team-based care delivery and support organizational goals
  • Attend required in-services, training, and meetings
  • Maintain compliance with legal, ethical, and clinical practice standards
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and standard precautions
  • Follow physician/provider orders and perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive physical movements
  • Ability to perform overhead lifting and patient handling activities
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility and therapeutic exercises
