Job Summary
The Accounting & Payroll Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll in accordance with federal, state, and organizational regulations. This role ensures proper documentation, reporting, and reconciliation of payroll-related transactions and supports payroll operations with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Process biweekly and/or monthly payrolls accurately and on time; Review and audit timecards, earnings, deductions, and adjustments; Coordinate with HR and department managers to resolve discrepancies; Maintain employee payroll records including new hires and terminations; Prepare payroll reports; Respond to employee payroll inquiries; Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws; Assist with W-2 processing and payroll tax reporting; Support payroll audits and reconciliations; Serve as back-up for Benefits Coordinator; Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Minimum two (2) years payroll processing experience required.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and procedures; Proficiency with payroll systems; ADP experience preferred; Attention to detail and organizational skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Strong communication skills.
Working Conditions
Professional office environment; Prolonged sitting and computer use; Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds; Standard Monday-Friday schedule with occasional extended hours during payroll processing periods.
