Job Description:

Under the broad direction of the Manager and Cardiologist, the staff sonographer will perform�sonographic examinations for all ages on�selective portions of the anatomy as requested by the Physician/Provider. The Staff Sonographer is expected to perform a variety of cardiovascular ultrasound procedures (ETTS, TEES, and Stress echos) with knowledge and ability for the purpose of obtaining diagnostic quality studies. Responsible to obtain patient history and appropriate clinical data to aid in proper diagnostic correlation. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be able to work scheduled and "On-Call" hours, if necessary. Qualifications: ��������� Education:�Graduate of AMA accredited Sonography program or equivalent. Eligible for, or possession of, a valid�Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)�or�Registered�Cardiac�Sonographer�(RCS)�certification.� ��������� Certification/Licensure (including annual requirements) ��������� Experience (Years/Type) ��������� One to three years' experience as a sonographer preferred. ��������� Equipment (Experience and/or Training) ��������� Ultrasound equipment-Phillips (iE33 and EPIQ) ��������� Specialized Training ��������� Must have an understanding of pathology, including a knowledge of diseases, anomalies and abnormalities which influence performance of procedures. ��������� Computer Skills (Hardware & Software) ��������� Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate with patients, customers, other departments, and Physicians in an articulate manner. ��������� Diplomacy, tact, and a positive approach to problem solving are required to be successful. ��������� Organizational skills are a must. ��������� Fosters a teamwork environment.
