Focus Behavioral Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to work with adults with Autism and Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities. DSPs provide hands-on support that helps the individuals we serve live more independently, pursue their goals, and stay connected to their communities.
No previous DSP experience? That’s okay! We provide paid training and the support you need to learn the role and become successful.

What Does a DSP Do?
Every day can look a little different. DSPs help individuals participate in activities, develop new skills, and become more independent.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting individuals with daily routines and Activities of Daily Living
Teaching and reinforcing skills such as cooking, cleaning, meal preparation, and household tasks
Helping individuals participate in community activities and outings
Encouraging independence and supporting personal choices
Assisting individuals in working toward goals outlined in their support plans
Providing appropriate support to promote health and safety
Building positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
Encouraging individuals to develop social, communication, and independent living skills
Supporting each individual with dignity, respect, and self-determination
You May Be a Great Fit If You Are:
At least 18 years old
Dependable and responsible
Patient, compassionate, and willing to learn
Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
A strong communicator with good organizational skills
Interested in working with individuals with disabilities
Looking to gain experience in psychology, education, social work, nursing, healthcare, human services, or a related field
A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required. Previous caregiving or human services experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidates.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Reliable transportation
Successful completion of required criminal background clearances
Ability to provide physical assistance when necessary
Physical Requirements
DSPs may occasionally need to assist individuals with standing, walking, transferring, or other forms of mobility support. Employees must be able to lift 75 pounds or more when necessary.
