Job DetailsJob Location: Lavonia, GA 30553Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeJob Category: Project ManagementJOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY Steelworks is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all transportation, inventory, and material flow operations at our Lavonia, GA facility. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient movement of raw materials and finished steel products while maintaining safety, cost control, and on-time delivery performance.  POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Manage daily logistics operations including inbound raw materials and outbound finished steel shipments Coordinate transportation schedules with carriers, vendors, and internal production teams Develop and maintain relationships with freight carriers and negotiate rates and contracts Monitor logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, freight costs, inventory turns) and implement process improvements Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, safety standards, and company policies Collaborate with production, procurement, and project teams to align logistics with operational needs Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve overall supply chain efficiency Resolve shipping, delivery, and inventory issues in a timely manner  REQUIRED CAPABILITIES Experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, or heavy industrial environments Knowledge of oversized load shipping and permitting  WORKING CONDITIONS Primarily on-site at the Lavonia, GA facility Combination of office and warehouse/yard environment May require occasional extended hours to meet project or shipping deadlines QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred) 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management, preferably in steel, manufacturing, or construction industries Strong knowledge of freight operations.
