The Role We are looking for a high-performing Outside Sales Representative to expand our client base and drive revenue across residential, multi-family, and commercial building projects. You will manage relationships with framing contractors, general contractors, and lumberyard distributors, serving as their technical consultant and trusted advisor from initial takeoff to job site delivery. Key Responsibilities Drive Sales Growth: Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities while expanding existing contractor accounts across your assigned territory. Job Site Consultation: Visit job sites, perform site measurements when necessary, and collaborate directly with framers, superintendents, and project managers. Technical Collaboration: Partner with in-house design and estimating teams to ensure structural plans, component designs, and engineered wood packages match project specifications. Proposal & Bid Management: Present clear, competitive quotes and bid packages, negotiating terms and closing deals efficiently. Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, delivery scheduling, order changes, and field issue resolution. Qualifications Experience: 2+ years of direct outside sales experience in structural building components (roof/floor trusses, EWP, framing, or building materials). Education: High school diploma required. A four-year college degree in management, sales or marketing preferred. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of wood structural framing, blueprint reading, architectural plans, and local building codes. Network: Established relationships with residential homebuilders, framing contractors, or general contractors in the local market preferred. Skills: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills; self-motivated with strong time-management habits.
