Healthcare professionals such as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Paramedics, and PCTs or CNA with healthcare background are encouraged to apply. Job Requirements:

Education

  • High School Diploma required
  • Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred

Experience

  • Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Front desk or patient registration experience preferred
  • BLS certification required at time of hire (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)

Certification / Equivalent Experience

Candidates with less than one year of Medical Assistant experience must hold one of the following certifications:

  • CCMA – Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA)
  • CMA – Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
  • RMA – Registered Medical Assistant (AMT)
  • NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT)
  • NRCMA – Nationally Registered Medical Assistant (NAHP)

In lieu of a Medical Assistant certification, we will also accept:

  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a hospital or urgent care setting
  • 1+ years of phlebotomy experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)
  • EMT – Emergency Medical Technician
  • Paramedic
  • CNA – Certified Nursing Assistant

***Candidates without an MA certification must obtain one within 15 months of hire***

CPOE certification for order entry is required within two weeks of start date.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Register patients and verify insurance and documentation
  • Schedule appointments and process co-pays
  • Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
  • Perform vital signs and preliminary patient assessments
  • Conduct point-of-care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
  • Assist providers with patient care and procedures
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and medical records
  • Answer patient questions and coordinate referrals
  • Perform opening/closing duties and maintain equipment quality checks
  • Support a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment
  • All other duties as assigned.
