The final rate will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, and years within the job or industry. Crew Members perform a blend of front-of-house and back-of-house duties, including cashiering, customer service, dishwashing, stocking, cleaning, bussing, and light food prep.   You’ll thrive here if you’re dependable, friendly, flexible, and take pride in a job well done.   Duties & Responsibilities of All KU Memorial Union Positions Adhere to University and KU Memorial Union policies and procedures. Always exhibit professional decorum while representing the KU Memorial Unions and the University, including routine events and meetings that occur outside of the kitchen, around campus, and in the community.   What You’ll Do Perform a variety of tasks including cooking, prepping, cleaning, dishwashing, restocking, serving food, and cashiering. Follow all food safety rules for preparing, handling, and storing food. Maintain a clean and organized workspace with a “clean as you go” approach. Communicate questions or concerns to your supervisor clearly and professionally. Support coworkers and work collaboratively to ensure tasks and assignments are completed efficiently. Assist with stocking, general cleaning, and covering workstations as needed. Interact positively with customers and follow up on concerns as appropriate.   What’s Required to Be Considered High School diploma or GED equivalent At least one year of experience in a similar or related position ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it within six months   The Ideal Candidate Previous food service experience at a college, institutional, or high-volume dining operation Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment   Physical Requirements This position requires regular standing, bending, stooping, extensive walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
