Job Description

I. JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing athletic training services to student-athletes under the direction of the Medical Director or by written referral from a physician in accordance with the Kansas State Athletic Training Act.  Acts as a health and medical advocate for the student athlete in order to obtain safe and optimal performance. Athletic Trainer will demonstrate knowledge of injury, illness or disability of patient population served and clinical competency and performance.


II. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops treatment strategies and intervention programs. Demonstrates equipment modalities used in treatments. Documents treatments per Medical Director of the program. Provides continuous education to students/staff and public. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

III. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program
  • Current Athletic Trainer (AT) license in Kansas
  • ATC credential through NATA/BOC
  • Current Basic life Support for Healthcare Providers.

IV. Preferred

  • 2 Years of Experience
