The OT Assistant provides therapy treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning, for a full patient caseload in acute care, acute rehab, skilled facility, outpatient settings as appropriate. Demonstrates appropriate communication, professionalism and supervision of support staff (aides, volunteers) and complies with all hospital and network policies. Participates in education and teaching commensurate with novice clinician.Essential Functions:
路 Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
路 Assists the rehabilitation staff by performing delegated or routine tasks related to the operation of a
physical therapy department, including patient preparation, transportation and departmental
maintenance.
路 Aids in the instruction and assistance of patients practicing prescribed exercises and functional
activities. Transports and safeguards patients to and from treatment areas.
路 Maintains patient medical records and other paperwork in a physiotherapy department
路 Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees
paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant.
路 Arranges treatment supplies to ensure an orderly and sufficient stock.
路 Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists,
supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes.
路 Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Description
Associates Degree from an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
AND
Experience:
0-2 years of clinical practice, 1 year preferred.
Valid certification from the National Board of Certification of Occupational Therapy.
Must have BLS CPR certification via AHA.
