About the Role:
Pernas Plant & Flower Shop Inc is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Flower Shop and Greenhouse Assistant to join our team in Princeton, NJ! This is a wonderful opportunity to work hands-on with beautiful plants and flowers in a vibrant, creative environment. Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily care and maintenance of plants and flowers in the greenhouse and shop
- Water, fertilize, and monitor plant health to ensure optimal growing conditions
- Assist in creating floral arrangements and displays for retail and special orders
- Greet and assist customers with plant and flower selection, providing knowledgeable recommendations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shop and greenhouse environment
- Receive, unpack, and stock incoming plant and floral inventory
- Support with processing sales transactions and handling customer inquiries
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a flower shop, greenhouse, nursery, or related horticulture setting preferred
- Basic knowledge of plants, flowers, and general plant care
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads (plants, soil, pots)
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Attention to detail and a creative eye for floral design is a plus
- Comfortable working in varying greenhouse temperatures and conditions
- local flower deliveries in our vehicles
