Position Summary: 

Responsible for managing all aspects of organizational sales and marketing including managing the members of the sales/marketing team, establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers and referral sources, responding to customer requests and concerns, and negotiating service contracts with managed care organizations, government agencies, and other payers.

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, health care, or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent is preferred.

  • Proven experience with implementing and managing a CRM platform.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales management experience, including at least two (2) years in hospice.

  • Special consideration will be given to candidates with prior hospital sales management experience and/or established relationships with health plans, hospitals, medical groups, and other managed care entities.

  • Must be a licensed driver with an insured and well-maintained automobile that meets state and/or organization requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead assigned elements of the sales organization.

  • Identify new markets and develop markets and competitive analysis.

  • Develop and implement highly innovative sales strategies.

  • Create and track metrics and reporting.

  • Provide oversight for the recruiting/interviewing process for all hospice sales candidates within an assigned area.

  • Ensure sales activities, quotas, and/or other assigned responsibilities are being achieved by the assigned hospice sales team.

  • Work closely with Staff Development and Executive Leaders to support the onboarding, orientation, and continuing education of assigned hospice sales teams.

  • Conduct coaching and development of assigned Hospice Sales Representatives and Clinical Liaisons.

  • Forecast, monitor, and adhere to the sales plan and budget.

  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations as well as internal policies and mission.

  • Keep top management apprised of sales through verbal and written communication.

  • Engage corporate and agency leaders in developing strategic partnerships.

  • Manage the assigned elements of the sales organization to an effective market mix of referral sources.

  • Work closely with senior clinical and operations leaders to ensure goal alignment and achievement.

  • Perform other Business Development duties as assigned by management to support department goals and initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to lead, coach, and manage a hospice sales team.

  • Ability to generate new business and maintain relationships with new and existing accounts.

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiating, and time management skills.

  • The willingness and ability to travel approximately >50% of time.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information and work with minimal supervision.

  • Proficient in word processing and solid computer skills, including the use of automated equipment and software.

  • Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to function independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other disciplines as a team.
