Position Summary The Ammunition Handler supports ammunition operations for the 434th Field Artillery Brigade by ensuring the safe, secure, and efficient receipt, storage, transportation, issue, accountability, and turn-in of ammunition. This role is critical to maintaining operational readiness and supporting training missions throughout Fort Sill. The individual will perform ammunition handling activities at the Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), Ammunition Holding Area (AHA), Building 6004 Ammunition Platoon Office, and designated field training locations. As required by the Government customer, candidates must possess an active Secret security clearance and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status.   Key Responsibilities Ammunition Operations Receive, inspect, store, transport, issue, and account for ammunition in support of training and operational requirements. Conduct ammunition breakdown, inspection, and verification activities prior to delivery to training ranges. Maintain accurate ammunition accountability records and inventory documentation. Support ammunition turn-in operations and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and procedures. Perform duties in accordance with ATP 4-35.1, Techniques for Munitions Handlers, unit SOPs, and all safety requirements.   Transportation & Vehicle Operations   Operate military vehicles, including 5-ton trucks, Medium Tactical Vehicles (MTVs), and High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWVs), to transport ammunition, equipment, and supplies. Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) on assigned vehicles and equipment. Conduct limited emergency repairs, including tire changes and fuse replacements, to maintain operational readiness. Clean and maintain vehicles and equipment following field training exercises.   Safety & Compliance Adhere to all explosive safety, transportation, environmental, and occupational safety regulations. Maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) endorsement. Follow established procedures and technical guidance to ensure safe handling and movement of ammunition and explosives. Support inspections, audits, and accountability reviews as required.   QualificationsRequired Qualifications Minimum three (3) years of ammunition handling experience. Active Secret Security Clearance. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement. Meet licensing requirements outlined in DoD 4500.9-R, Defense Transportation Regulation. Complete, or able to complete, the Support Cadre Training Course (SCTC) within required timelines. Working knowledge of: AR 600-55, Army Driver and Operator Standardization Program USAFACFS Supplement 58-1, Management, Acquisition, and Use of Motor Vehicles Strong understanding of ammunition accountability, storage, transportation, and safety procedures. Ability to workday or night shifts in support of mission requirements.   Preferred Qualifications   Experience operating military tactical vehicles, including HMMWVs and FMTVs. Ability to obtain military vehicle operator licensing within 90 days of hire. Experience supporting Army ammunition supply operations or training environments. Familiarity with range support operations and ammunition distribution activities. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds; team lifting procedures will be utilized when required. Ability to perform physical activities including bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, standing, and operating vehicle controls for extended periods. Ability to perform limited emergency vehicle repairs in field environments. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including Kevlar helmets when operating designated tactical vehicles. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and field conditions.   Pre-Employment Requirements Must successfully pass all pre-employment screening requirements established by Solution One Industries, Inc.
