Description
Join our team as a skilled Audio Visual (AV) Specialist to provide on-site operational support, sustainment, and technical expertise for classroom audiovisual systems within the USAFCOEFS environment. This role is critical to ensuring fully functional, mission-ready classroom technologies that support training, simulations, and command events.
The AV Specialist will maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance installed AV systems, support live events, and ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and networked solutions—including Microsoft Teams-enabled video conferencing. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on AV experience, troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, mission-driven government environment.
The scope is to provide end-to-end audiovisual support across USAFCOEFS classrooms and event spaces, including system sustainment, troubleshooting, event support, asset management, and customer training—ensuring reliable, high-quality, and mission-ready AV capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. AV Systems Operations & Sustainment
Provide daily operational support and sustainment for installed classroom AV systems, including:
• Projectors, audio systems, control systems, and AV racksÂ
• Network-connected AV and Teams-enabled conferencing systemsÂ
• Routine system checks to ensure full operational readinessÂ
Maintain:
• Daily logs of tasks, customer requests, and system issuesÂ
• Common Operating Picture (COP) of all FCP classroomsÂ
• Weekly inventory of AV equipment and repair partsÂ
Perform:
• Preventative maintenance (cleaning, filter/lamp replacement, inspections)Â
• Equipment repairs and component replacement as requiredÂ
• Troubleshooting using wiring diagrams and signal flow schematicsÂ
2. Service Management & Reporting
• Track and manage workload using Army Enterprise Service Management Platform (AESMP)Â
• Create and manage tickets in SharePoint and FCP repositoriesÂ
• Monitor all tickets through resolution and closureÂ
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status reports to the CORÂ
• Document equipment usage, repairs, and part replacementsÂ
Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs):
• Classroom requests: 2-hour response / 4-hour resolutionÂ
• General requests: 4-hour response / 8-hour resolutionÂ
3. Event & Operational Support
Support AV requirements for ceremonies, training, and events, including:
• Change-of-command ceremonies, retirements, and official functionsÂ
• Conferences, presentations, and multi-day eventsÂ
Responsibilities include:
• Coordinating with customers to determine AV requirementsÂ
• Conducting site surveys (power, layout, acoustics)Â
• Transporting, setting up, configuring, and operating AV equipmentÂ
• Monitoring and adjusting audio/video quality during eventsÂ
Produce:
• Audio products and recordings for official eventsÂ
• High-quality sound and visual outputs using mixers and equalizersÂ
4. Customer Support & Training
• Serve as primary AV support representative for classrooms and eventsÂ
• Provide hands-on assistance and troubleshooting for usersÂ
• Deliver training and briefings on AV systems and instructional technologiesÂ
• Coordinate with technical support teams to resolve complex issuesÂ
5. Equipment & Asset Management
• Maintain accountability of AV equipment, repair parts, and inventoryÂ
• Manage AV loaner program (issue, track, receive equipment)Â
• Document shipping/receiving of AV components, including packaging and labelingÂ
• Track usage of consumables (e.g., projector bulbs) by classroomÂ
Requirements
• DoD Secret ClearanceÂ
• Compliance with DoD cybersecurity and information assurance policiesÂ
• Ability to safeguard Government systems, equipment, and facilitiesÂ
• Knowledge of handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)Â
• Bachelor’s degree in Audio Visual Technology, IT, Electronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)Â
• 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting AV systems and live eventsÂ
• AV hardware (projectors, audio systems, mixers, control systems)Â
• Video conferencing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams)Â
• AV signal flow, wiring, and schematics interpretationÂ
• Basic networking concepts related to AV systemsÂ
• Experience supporting live events and presentationsÂ
• Ability to manage multiple service requests in a fast-paced environmentÂ
• Strong communication and customer support skillsÂ
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in DoD or government training environmentsÂ
• Familiarity with SharePoint and AESMP ticketing systemsÂ
• Experience supporting classroom or simulation-based training systemsÂ
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for AV systemsÂ
