Job Summary
 

The Crossover Health Physician Assistant role is at the forefront of the unique patient experience we seek to deliver. The Physician Assistant assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the Lead Physician in compliance with state practice acts and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physicians.

  • Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, provides home-going instructions, and assists in the  continuity of care.

  • Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, and health maintenance.

  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.

  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition.

  • Provides written home-going instructions.

  • Collaborates with Physicians and other health professionals to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.

  • Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.

  • Refers patients to Physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university PA Program requiredAt least three years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.

  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Internal Medicine or Family Practice

  • Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the state or jurisdiction of practice National Certification with NCCPA Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.

  • Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for medical providers is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.

  • Appropriate certification to write prescriptions under the authority of the Medical Leader, if allowed within state of practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

  • Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records a plus.

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Physical Job Requirements

  • May require standing, walking and sitting for extended amounts of time.

  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination

  • Includes full range of body motion including potential of handling and lifting patients.

  • Requires corrected vision, hearing and speech within normal ranges. Must be able to effectively communicate with patients and team members.
