Position Summary

The Cabinet Builder is responsible for accurately assembling finished cabinets using wood components, woodworking machinery, and hand tools. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to maintain high quality standards, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assemble finished cabinets using pre-cut and finished wood components
  • Set up and operate woodworking machinery and equipment
  • Use hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble cabinets
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and assembly instructions
  • Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
  • Follow all safety and quality procedures, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Inspect finished products to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors regarding production and quality
  • Set up, maintain, and clean workstations
  • Report equipment issues, defects, or safety concerns to management immediately
  • Perform other shop duties as assigned

Training & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in cabinetry, woodworking, or a related field such as assembly, construction, or manufacturing
  • Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment
  • Ability to carefully handle wood products while maintaining quality
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; Spanish language skills are a plus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and measurements
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and dependable attendance
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train in other areas of the shop
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a warehouse and woodworking shop environment
  • Regular standing for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers
  • Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling materials
  • Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds
  • Exposure to wood dust, machinery, and production noise
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including closed-toe shoes and eye and hearing protection
