Out of the Woods Custom Cabinetry is looking for a Sander / Seal Sander to join our Cabinet Shop in Layton, Utah. In this role, you'll sand wood products to a smooth finish and apply sanding sealer while helping produce high-quality custom cabinetry. If you enjoy hands-on work, have an eye for detail, and take pride in quality craftsmanship, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: $15.00-$18.00/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00 AM-3:30 PM | Friday 6:00 AM-11:00 AM

What You'll Do
- Sand wood products to achieve a smooth, consistent finish
- Apply sanding sealer to wood products according to company standards
- Follow all quality and safety procedures, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Inspect products to ensure they meet company quality standards
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors
- Maintain sanding equipment and tools in safe working condition
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and production-ready
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to management immediately
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience operating shop machinery preferred
- Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, and measurements
- Basic understanding of woodworking tools, equipment, and shop practices preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train in other areas of the shop
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Work is performed in a warehouse and woodworking shop environment
- Regular standing for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent repetitive use of hands, wrists, and fingers
- Frequent bending, reaching, grasping, pushing, and pulling materials
- Regular lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to wood dust, sanding equipment, machinery, and production noise
- Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including closed-toe shoes, eye protection, and hearing protection
