Position Description:

The sanitation tech is responsible for the day-to-day sanitation of machine parts, tools, and utensils, and sanitation of all facilities in a condition that protects against contamination of components, dietary supplements, equipment, contact surfaces; they are also responsible for the day to day restocking of the PPE gowning rooms, the PPE Kanban kits, and the PPE supply shelves.

 

Essential responsibilities:

  • Clean all machine parts, tools, and utensils as soon as they are placed in the dirty parts WIP area.
  • Keep all gowning rooms stocked with PPE, clean, and in order.
  • Keep PPE Kanban kits and supply shelves stoked, clean, and in order (report when PPE shelves are low of any item)
  • Remove trash from all waste cans and keep them lined with clean bags.
  • Maintain walkways and halls in all facility clean and in order.
  • Do housekeeping of washroom, lunchrooms, offices, and closets.
  • Assist in production room cleaning.
  • Do cleaning of air handling vents.
  • Maintain outside of facilities:
  • Removing litter and waste.
  • Cutting weeds or grass, if needed, within the immediate vicinity of the physical plant so that it does not attract pests, harbor pests, or provide pests a place for breeding.
  • Maintaining parking lots so that they do not constitute a source of contamination in areas where components, dietary supplements, or contact surfaces are exposed.
  • Monitoring the adequacy of draining areas that may contribute to contamination by seepage, filth, or any other extraneous materials, or by providing a breeding place for pests.
  • Ensuring the disposal of production waste so that it does not constitute a source of contamination in areas where components, dietary supplements, or contact surfaces are exposed.
  • Wash barrels, if needed, and keep their points of use and storages areas stocked.
  • Palettize and wrap all dirty barrels by-40-count for vendor pickup.
  • Receive and inspect barrels as they are delivered by vendor.
  • Prepare cardboard boxes for compression, and then compress them and wire-bail them when machine is full.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferable; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; converse and listen; taste or smell.
  • Employee must exert up to 60 kgs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects and must be able to lift 25 kg. of weight, or more with others help or using lifting devices. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • May be exposed to a dusty environment and/or considerable noise.
