High School Boys Golf Coach

Description

Primary Purpose: The varsity golf coach is responsible for the oversight of the golf program at Gehlen Catholic.They are responsible for teaching the fundamentals of the game of golf, and show the players not only how to play, but to adhere to the rules, regulations, and ethics of golf. 

Essential Functions

• Train and supervise students in the use of:
  • Practice
  • Meets
• Teach players the rules of golf, and the proper etiquette of the game.
• Communicate with players and parents
• Work with the Athletic Director closely on scheduling and transportation.
• Follow the rules and policies set forth by Gehlen Catholic for eligibility requirements.
• Ensure all rules and regulations of the IHSSA and IGHSAU are followed. 
• Uphold the values of our Catholic faith while leading their players.

Requirements

• Must hold a valid Iowa coaching certification or license.
• Complete Virtus training
• Completed background checks
• CPR-trained preferred but not required
• Knowledge of the game of golf from past playing or coaching experience
