Our team seeks an Administrative Assistant to help us create better outdoor experiences by providing assistance for an assigned business unit to ensure administrative tasks are accomplished . In this role, you will receive and filter incoming inquiries, coordinate schedules and events, draft and proofread documents, maintain records and data, and coordinate special projects to help the team's goals and initiatives.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

How you will be successful:
  • Screen, direct, and follow up on incoming calls, mail, e-mail, and personal inquiries.
  • Create and distribute documents (agendas, presentations, meeting minutes etc ) to relieve workload and ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain files, backs-ups, and other data to ensure effective cost control within distribution center.
  • Schedule meetings, travel, conferences or other special events to ensure effective cost control measures.
  • Maintain depart bulletin board, forms, and office supplies; places orders to replenish supplies as necessary.
  • Coordinate special projects such as office moves, administrative equipment or service evaluations in DC.
  • Provides additional guidance for other administrative staff due to work load , illness, vacations, lunches, or breaks.
  • Outreach:

    •This job contributes to REI's success by facilitating and spotlighting area volunteer opportunities. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining key relationships in the community, assisting in the nomination process for grants, and monitoring assigned budget. Models and acts in accordance with REI's guiding values and mission. Develops and maintains relationships with local community groups to identify presentation and volunteer opportunities that foster related stewardship and activism.

    • Develops and maintains relationships with the local media to spotlight volunteer opportunities, events, and successes.

    • Coordinates service projects that bring REI employees and the community together in support of the environment.

    • Provides assistance to the Company and community for the nomination and subsequent award of REI grant monies for local non-profit organizations.

    • Monitors assigned outreach budget; seeks opportunities to leverage corporate resources to maximize the impact of outreach activities.

    • Maintains ongoing relationships and serves as member on various committees to represent departmental and/or overall Company Interests; communicates company needs and expectations internally or externally; provides review, input, and recommendations as appropriate.

    • Coordinates with local/regional retail Outreach Specialists.
