Cardiac Surgery Advanced Practice Provider - Outpatient

Dartmouth Health is pleased to announce an opening for an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) in the Section of Cardiac Surgery. In this role, the APP will provide and coordinate care and education of patients and families prior to surgery, and while transitioning back to home, including post-operative follow-up.  Work in the outpatient clinic setting provides opportunities to assist with the evaluation of elective, urgent, and emergent patients, both in coordination with the surgeons as well as an independent patient panel. Additional responsibilities include in basket management, triaging referrals, and fielding phone calls.

 

In addition, there are ample opportunities to be involved in research.  A faculty appointment through Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.

 

Position Highlights:

  • Be team-oriented, multi-taskers with a great willingness to adapt to the team’s needs
  • Work four 10-hour shifts per week, primarily at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center
  • No night or weekend call requirements
  • Opportunity to moonlight on the Cardiac Surgery service, covering ICU/floor patients (experience required)

Position Requirements:

  • BLS certification
  • Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH
  • Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program. 
  • 1-2 years relevant experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
