Improvement Technician

Job Purpose:
Design, develop, test, and improve manufacturing machinery and equipment. Troubleshoot and maintain equipment to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement projects to improve production methods and equipment performance.
• Design, develop, and test machinery and tools.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.
• Modify or create special tools and fixtures as needed.
• Conduct cost assessments and validations for projects.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the plant.
• Provide technical assistance for production equipment.
• Inspect and assess parts for dimensional accuracy.
• Adjust, test, and operate equipment for optimal performance.
• Use metalworking tools (lathe, drill press, mill, grinder) for part fabrication and repair.
• Initiate purchase orders for necessary parts and machines.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred OR 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and technical documents.
• Experience with PLC and CNC programming and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic circuits, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding (stick, MIG, TIG).
• Understanding of machine control circuits and schematics.
• Familiarity with plumbing, pumps, and various piping materials.
• Ability to work in a team and contribute to process improvements.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Comfortable working around moving machinery in a moderate-to-loud environment.
