Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Learn and understand IBC’s surface treatment and coatings processes, primarily focusing on Cathodic Arc Physical Vapor Deposition (CAPVD) and Magnetron Sputtering Physical Vapor Deposition (MSPVD) and a secondary focus on Plasma Nitriding, Salt Bath Nitriding, Thermal Diffusion Processes, and Heat Treat.
2. Perform daily contract review on incoming jobs, creating process instructions in the ERP system for production team to follow.
3. Work hands-on with production staff to ensure proper set-up of customer parts in furnaces.
4. Design fixturing and masking for customer parts as needed.
5. Work with R&D staff to develop new processes as needed and ensure a successful transition into production.
6. Write standard operating procedures and work instructions following established documentation processes.
7. Review nonconformances (NCRs) with engineering staff to improve and identify areas for continuous improvement.
8. Understand equipment functionality to help troubleshoot and verify proper operation.
9. Read, interpret, and create blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
10. Support the quality department in achieving and maintaining NADCAP accreditation for applicable processes.
11. Work with applications engineering team to assess the feasibility of new projects.
12. Complete additional assignments and projects as prescribed by your supervisor.
13. Follow all AS9100/ISO 9001, internal quality policies, OSHA safety regulations, and company safety policies.
Job Requirements:
1. Must be a U.S. Citizen/Green Card holder. Sponsorship is not provided for this position.
2. A bachelor’s degree in metallurgical/materials engineering (preferred) or mechanical engineering is required.
3. 3-5 years of engineering experience in a production environment is required.
4. Experience in surface coatings or metallurgical engineering preferred, but not required.
5. Possess a working knowledge of surface coating processes (i.e. CAPVD, MSPVD, heat treatment, nitriding, thermal diffusion, carburizing, etc.).
6. Solidworks or equivalent 3-D modeling software experience is required.
7. Have a working knowledge of vacuum furnace equipment and controls.
8. Must have leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
9. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.
10. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software.
