Senior Safety Engineer IÂ

SUMMARY Â
Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Safety Engineer I that will be responsible for implementing Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites and ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.Â

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Implement and administer safety programs at worksites, including site-specific safety activities and training programsÂ
Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, and analyze loss control dataÂ
Lead OSHA reporting, monitor subcontractor activities, and review safety submittalsÂ
Record, monitor, and analyze safety, injury, and hazard statisticsÂ
Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, and maintain knowledge of safety standardsÂ
Serve as a resource for safety issues, attend safety meetings, and assist with major incident analysisÂ
Work with client safety personnel, union representatives, and insurance risk engineersÂ
Ensure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and build relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsÂ

QUALIFICATIONSÂ
Bachelor’s degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent; Â
ORÂ
High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and a minimum of 10 years construction experience leading crews and planning work, to include at least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional responsible for managing project safety programs, conducting / reviewing hazard analyses and developing controls, conducting safety training, and planning work activities or equivalent experience in a relevant fieldÂ
Minimum of four years of construction safety experienceÂ
Current valid driver’s licenseÂ
Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksÂ
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant safety software programsÂ
Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsÂ
Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies effectivelyÂ
Willingness to travel up to 100%Â

The base pay range for this role is $89,500 - $120,800 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Â
Â
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.Â
