Successful Candidates Will Demonstrate

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing quality standards and improving productivity and efficiency. This role ensures smooth warehouse execution, strong team leadership, regulatory compliance and exceptional client service. The ideal candidate balances strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and has a passion for building strong, high-performing teams and long-term customer relationships.


Essential Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations & Facility Management 

  • Lead all warehouse functions: inbound, outbound, order fulfillment, labeling, and more.
  • Partner with Customer Site Manager to achieve key metrics in the areas of operations, safety and personnel.
  • Maintain and enhance warehouse layout, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Implement and improve warehouse processes to maximize efficiency and accuracy.

Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance with OSHA, DOT and other state/local guidelines.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and ensure audit-readiness.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues through root cause analysis.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on company policies, standards and procedures.

People Leadership

  • Lead a hybrid team of full-time warehouse employees.
  • Oversee recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Client Experience & Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for onsite client account.
  • Drive service excellence through proactive support and creative problem-solving.
  • Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns by listening and consulting with others when needed to determine actions to resolve.

Inventory & Supply Chain Execution

  • Oversee inventory management, loss prevention, slotting, and overflow solutions.
  • Ensure WMS integration for real-time inventory visibility.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
  • OR Associate’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and minimum 5+ years supervisory experience in similar environment
  • OR Minimum 7 years supervisory experience in a similar environment or Logistics/Warehousing
  • OR Military experience equivalent

 

Skills, abilities, physical requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to partner with all levels of management.
  • Excellent people skills to effectively lead and empower team members.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to achieve goals and drive performance improvements.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of WMS concepts/systems.
  • Regularly walk warehouse floors and perform light physical labor (carry up to 60 lbs occasionally).
  • Adapt to varying warehouse temperatures
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends when necessary.
