Wingstop Shift Leader
About the Role
The Shift Leader is responsible for leading daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts while supporting the General Manager and Assistant Manager in achieving operational goals. This role serves as the person in charge during their shift, ensuring excellent customer service, food quality, cleanliness, food safety, and team member performance. The Shift Leader leads by example, coaches team members, resolves guest concerns, and helps maintain a positive, high-energy work environment. This position is ideal for team members looking to grow their leadership skills and advance within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous restaurant, retail, or customer service experience.
- Prior leadership, trainer, crew chief, shift lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical job duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a quick-service restaurant (QSR) environment.
- Experience with Wingstop or similar restaurant brands.
- Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or equivalent).
- Experience coaching or training team members.
- Familiarity with POS systems and inventory procedures.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead restaurant operations during assigned shifts.
- Ensure all guests receive exceptional service and a positive dining experience.
- Coach, motivate, and support team members to meet performance expectations.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Monitor food quality, portioning, speed of service, and product presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
- Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures as assigned.
- Assist with cash management and register accountability.
- Monitor labor and staffing needs throughout the shift.
- Assist with inventory counts, product rotation, and waste control.
- Address and resolve guest concerns in a professional manner.
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness inside and outside the facility.
- Communicate operational needs and concerns to restaurant management.
- Support sales-building initiatives and restaurant performance goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
