About the Role:

The Data Center Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of data center facilities that support business services across the United States. This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting the physical and environmental infrastructure of the data center, including power, cooling, and security systems. The operator ensures that all systems are functioning optimally to prevent downtime and data loss, thereby supporting the organization's IT infrastructure and business continuity. Collaboration with technical teams to escalate and resolve issues promptly is essential to minimize operational disruptions. Ultimately, the Data Center Operator contributes to maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performance environment that supports the organization's technology needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of data center infrastructure including power, cooling, and security systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and maintaining physical IT environments or related technical facilities.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor data center environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and airflow to ensure optimal operating conditions.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of power distribution units, backup generators, cooling systems, and fire suppression equipment.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and alerts, diagnosing and resolving issues or escalating them to appropriate technical teams.
  • Manage physical access controls and security protocols to safeguard data center assets and sensitive information.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation of operational activities, incidents, and maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in the installation and decommissioning of hardware and cabling within the data center environment.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills and support emergency response efforts as needed.

The Data Center Operator utilizes technical skills daily to monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
