Job DetailsJob Location: Hospital - Leesburg, FL 34748Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 4 Year DegreeSalary Range: $17.82Job Purpose: - LifeStream's HIV Early Intervention Services provide early detection, education, referrals to additional services across our continuum of care, infection prevention skills, improvement of quality of life, and improvement of mental and physical health. The BA/BS Counselor is responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices to support their mental health and well-being. This role involves assessing client needs, developing personalized treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions to promote positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans. - Provide counseling services using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support clients in achieving their mental health goals. - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to client care. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting progress and any changes in treatment plans. - Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of best practices within the center. - Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in emergency situations. - Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and available resources. - Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health counseling and integrate new knowledge into practice. - Uphold the ethical standards and confidentiality requirements of the counseling profession. QualificationsRequired Education: - Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field. Required Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a counseling or mental health setting. Required Skills and Abilities: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. - Proficiency in using counseling techniques and therapeutic interventions. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Competence in using electronic health records and other relevant software. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
