The work:
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, user/task analysis, personas, storyboards, scenarios, and experience goal setting.
- Lead UI/UX design activities including conceptual modeling, information architecture, wireframes, flowcharts, and high‑fidelity prototypes.
- Facilitate observational studies, customer interviews, usability testing, and iterative design sessions.
- Develop UI mockups, clickable prototypes, and proof‑of‑concept interfaces using Figma and prototyping tools.
- Create original graphic assets such as icons, images, sketches, tables, and visual components.
- Design and code user interfaces using HTML5, CSS/Sass, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Angular.
- Implement layout adjustments and design refinements based on user research and testing results.
- Identify and troubleshoot UX/UI issues, usability gaps, and design inconsistencies.
- Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and federal UX policies.
- Communicate research insights, design rationale, prototypes, and specifications visually and verbally to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with visual designers, developers, and product teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.
- Use GitLab and the command line for version control, workflows, and development tasks.
- Prepare and present design drafts, prototypes, and recommendations to internal teams and key stakeholders.
- Support iterative improvement through ongoing analysis, user feedback, and design reviews.

Here’s what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years professional experience in front‑end development, UI/UX, or combined full‑stack design roles.
- 3+ years’ experience using Figma and Angular for UI/UX design and development
- Experience and understanding of achieving government 508 compliance while adhering to regulations and policies.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including SOLID design principles, plugins, and node-based tooling.
- Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS, Sass/Less, and front‑end pre‑processing tools.
- Proficient in GitLab version control and command‑line workflows.
- Hands-on experience designing interfaces & building clickable prototypes.
- Proven experience researching user needs and conducting usability testing.
- Experience coding, testing, debugging, and implementing web applications across multiple platforms.
- Ability to create original assets (graphics, icons, layouts) and visually appealing UI components.

- Experience working in federal environments or supporting government UX needs.
- Strong ability to synthesize user data into actionable design improvements.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development processes.
- Experience writing UX documentation(personas, design specs, testing reports).
- Ability to support iterative releases and collaborate closely with developers.
- Strong communication and presentation skills for conveying design rationale.
